The dunes of the Sahara Erg Chigaga are a much younger and less populated destination. The dunes of Erg Chigaga are located southeast of Marrakech, towards the border with Algeria, more than 60 km from the nearest city, Mhamid. The desert is here bigger and wilder. Those who opt for an excursion to the Erg Chigaga desert should expect a rustic experience without access to nearby hotels. This circuit in the desert requires at least three days of travel through Ait Ben Haddou, the palm groves of the Draa Valley and a rocky and desert landscape before reaching the dunes of the Sahara. The tour through the desert of Erg Chigaga is fascinating, the trip to the Sahara desert offers you the opportunity to ride a camel, climb the dunes of the Sahara, admire the magnificent views and sleep under the tent or the beautiful star The other dunes of the Sahara they are the dunes of Erg Chebbi de Merzouga. Day 1: Chegaga Desert

We begin our 3-day desert tour in Chegaga with a 4 × 4 car, which will take place at 8:00 am from your accommodation in Marrakech. We pass through the High Atlas Promenade, in Tizi-n-Tichka, leading along a beautiful region to reach the World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, the most famous town of Kasbah in Morocco. Lunch will be in Ouarzazate or Agdez. After lunch, you will cross the Draa Valley with palm trees and ancient kasbahs. The night with dinner will be in a hotel in Zagora.

Day 2: Zagora - Mhamid - Sacred Oasis - Erg Chigaga Dunes

After breakfast, our adventure in the Erg Chigaga desert continues through the palm groves of the Draa Valley. After a short break in the panoramic view of Draa palmeraie, we will stop in Tamgroute to visit the famous Koranic library (closed for national and religious holidays) and an underground kasba, then we will go to M'Hamid, a small town - the last town and the main oasis of Draa before the great desert of Erg Chegaga Sahara. Then we continue our three-day desert tour from Marrakech, 60 km from the M'hamid road to the Erg Chegaga dune. This largest group of Sahara dunes in the region reaches a height of 300 m and covers an area of 40 km. Dinner and overnight at a Berber tent camp after a 40-minute camel ride to enjoy the golden desert sunset.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga Dunes - Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Marrakech

After breakfast at Erg Chegaga Camp, departure in 4 × 4 via Marrakech towards the natural and dry Iriqi Lake towards Fom Zguid, lunch in the Berber village of Fom Zguid or Taznakht. Arrival in Marrakech at the end of the afternoon around 6 pm.
